Environmental Sustainability Statement

RETECH Australia ("RETECH") is committed to both the protection of the environment and evaluating the impact that the Company's services can have on our common goal of building and maintaining a sustainable environment. 


Compliance with Australian legislation is the minimum standard to which the Company shall adhere to with respect to the environment. RETECH shall additionally endeavour to follow best practices with due regard for its business needs in line with the requirements of ISO14001, the Internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) in place, and the expectations of all interested parties. 


The primary objectives of the Company under the EMS guidelines are to: 


  1. Reduce carbon footprint;
  2. Reduce energy consumption;
  3. Minimise the production of all types of waste, especially paper;
  4. Encourage reuse, recycling and the disposal of other waste that cannot be avoided, in a responsible manner.
     

The Company Director will be responsible for communicating and implementing the EMS guidelines and will ensure that: 


  1. Employees and contractors are encouraged to be proactive in the personal and positive impact they can have on the guidelines and to report areas of concern;
  2. Introduction and training is provided as part of staff on-boarding and development according to roles & responsibilities;
  3. Efforts are made to minimise travel by maximising use of electronic systems & tools;
  4. Favour the use of suppliers & trades who are committed to environmental good practice; 
  5. Carbon offsetting implemented commensurate to the level of business travel; 
  6. Pollution is prevented in all forms, especially from redundant electrical equipment.


RETECH commits to continually improving the Environmental Management System by regularly reviewing environmental impacts and to update the guidelines in line with any review findings and/or changes to prevailing Australian legislation.
